Bấy giờ, một người trong Nhóm Mười Hai tên là Giuđa Ítcariốt, đi gặp các thượng tế 

In jener Zeit ging einer der Zwölf namens Judas Iskariot zu den Hohenpriestern

Then one of the twelve, who was named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and sa

 

mà nói: "Quý vị muốn cho tôi bao nhiêu? Tôi đây sẽ nộp ông ấy cho quý vị". Họ quyết định cho hắn ba mươi đồng bạc. 

und sagte: Was wollt ihr mir geben, wenn ich euch Jesus ausliefere? Und sie zahlten ihm dreißig Silberstücke.

What will you give me, if I give him up to you? And the price was fixed at thirty bits of silver.

 

Từ lúc đó, hắn cố tìm dịp thuận tiện để nộp Ðức Giêsu.

Von da an suchte er nach einer Gelegenheit, ihn auszuliefern.

And from that time he was watching for a chance to give him into their hands.

 

Ngày thứ nhất trong tuần bánh không men, các môn đệ đến thưa với Ðức Giêsu: "Thầy muốn chúng con dọn cho Thầy ăn lễ Vượt Qua ở đâu?" 

Am ersten Tag des Festes der Ungesäuerten Brote gingen die Jünger zu Jesus und fragten: Wo sollen wir das Paschamahl für dich vorbereiten?

Now on the first day of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Where are we to make ready for you to take the Passover meal?

 

Người bảo: "Các anh đi vào thành, đến nhà một người kia và nói với ông ấy: "Thầy nhắn: thời của Thầy đã gần tới, Thầy sẽ đến nhà ông để ăn mừng lễ Vượt Qua với các môn đệ của Thầy".

Er antwortete: Geht in die Stadt zu dem und dem und sagt zu ihm: Der Meister lässt dir sagen: Meine Zeit ist da; bei dir will ich mit meinen Jüngern das Paschamahl feiern.

And he said to them, Go into the town to such a man, and say to him, The Master says, My time is near: I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.

 

Các môn đệ làm y như Ðức Giêsu đã truyền, và dọn lễ Vượt Qua.

Die Jünger taten, was Jesus ihnen aufgetragen hatte, und bereiteten das Paschamahl vor.

And the disciples did as Jesus had said to them; and they made ready the Passover.

 

Chiều đến, Ðức Giêsu vào bàn tiệc với mười hai môn đệ. 

Als es Abend wurde, begab er sich mit den zwölf Jüngern zu Tisch.

Now when evening was come, he was seated at table with the twelve disciples;

 

Ðang bữa ăn, Người nói: Thầy bảo thật anh em, một người trong anh em sẽ nộp Thầy".

Und während sie aßen, sprach er: Amen, ich sage euch: Einer von euch wird mich verraten und ausliefern.

And while they were taking food, he said, Truly I say to you that one of you will be false to me.

 

Các môn đệ buồn rầu quá sức, bắt đầu lần lượt hỏi Người: "thưa Ngài, chẳng lẽ con sao?" 

Da waren sie sehr betroffen, und einer nach dem andern fragte ihn: Bin ich es etwa, Herr?

And they were very said, and said to him, one by one, Is it I, Lord?

 

Người đáp: "Kẻ giơ tay chấm chung một đĩa với Thầy, đó là kẻ nộp Thầy.

Er antwortete: Der, der die Hand mit mir in die Schüssel getaucht hat, wird mich verraten.

And he made answer and said, He who puts his hand into the plate with me, the same will be false to me.

 

Ðã hẳn Con Người ra đi theo như lời đã chép về Người, nhưng khốn cho người nào nộp Con Người: thà người đó đừng sinh ra thì hơn!"

Der Menschensohn muss zwar seinen Weg gehen, wie die Schrift über ihn sagt. Doch weh dem Menschen, durch den der Menschensohn verraten wird. Für ihn wäre es besser, wenn er nie geboren wäre.

The Son of man goes, even as the Writings say of him: but a curse is on that man through whom the Son of man is given up; it would have been well for that man if he had never come into the world.

 

Giuđa, kẻ nộp Người cũng hỏi: "Rápbi, chẳng lẽ con sao?" Người trả lời: "Chính anh đó!".

Da fragte Judas, der ihn verriet: Bin ich es etwa, Rabbi? Jesus sagte zu ihm: Du sagst es.

And Judas, who was false to him, made answer and said, Is it I, Master? He says to him, Yes.

 

Cũng đang bữa ăn, Ðức Giêsu cầm lấy bánh, dâng lời chúc tụng, rồi bẻ ra, trao cho môn đệ và nói: "Anh em cầm lấy mà ăn, đây là mình Thầy".

Während des Mahls nahm Jesus das Brot und sprach den Lobpreis; dann brach er das Brot, reichte es den Jüngern und sagte: Nehmt und esst; das ist mein Leib.

And when they were taking food, Jesus took bread and, after blessing it, he gave the broken bread to the disciples and said, Take it; this is my body.

 

Rồi Người cầm lấy chén, dâng lời tạ ơn, trao cho môn đệ và nói: "Tất cả anh em hãy uống chén này, 

Dann nahm er den Kelch, sprach das Dankgebet und reichte ihn den Jüngern mit den Worten: Trinkt alle daraus;

And he took a cup and, having given praise, he gave it to them, saying,

 

vì đây là máu Thầy, máu Giao Ước, đổ ra cho muôn người được tha tội. 

das ist mein Blut, das Blut des Bundes, das für viele vergossen wird zur Vergebung der Sünden.

Take of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the testament, which is given for men for the forgiveness of sins.

 

Thầy bảo cho anh em biết: từ nay, Thầy không còn uống thứ sản phẩm này của cây nho, cho đến ngày ấy, ngày Thầy được cùng anh em uống thứ rượu mới trong Nước của Cha Thầy".

Ich sage euch: Von jetzt an werde ich nicht mehr von der Frucht des Weinstocks trinken, bis zu dem Tag, an dem ich mit euch von neuem davon trinke im Reich meines Vaters.

But I say to you that from now I will not take of this fruit of the vine, till that day when I take it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

 

Hát thánh vịnh xong, Ðức Giêsu và các môn đệ ra đi lên núi Ôliu. 

Nach dem Lobgesang gingen sie zum Ölberg hinaus.

And after a song of praise to God, they went out to the Mountain of Olives.

 

Bấy giờ Ðức Giêsu nói với các ông: "Ðêm nay tất cả anh em sẽ vấp ngã vì Thầy. Vì có lời đã chép: Ta sẽ đánh người chăn chiên, và đàn chiên sẽ tan tác. 

Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Ihr alle werdet in dieser Nacht an mir Anstoß nehmen und zu Fall kommen; denn in der Schrift steht: Ich werde den Hirten erschlagen, dann werden sich die Schafe der Herde zerstreuen.

Then said Jesus to them, All of you will be turned away from me this night: for it is said in the Writings, I will put to death the keeper of the sheep, and the sheep of the flock will be put to flight.

 

Nhưng sau khi chỗi dậy, Thầy sẽ đến Galilê trước anh em". 

Aber nach meiner Auferstehung werde ich euch nach Galiläa vorausgehen

But after I am come back from the dead, I will go before you into Galilee.

 

Ông Phêrô liền thưa: "Dầu tất cả có vấp ngã vì Thầy đi nữa, thì con đây cũng chẳng bao giờ vấp ngã". 

Petrus erwiderte ihm: Und wenn alle an dir Anstoß nehmen - ich niemals!

But Peter made answer and said to him, Though all may be turned away from you, I will never be turned away.

 

Ðức Giêsu bảo ông: "Thầy bảo thật anh: nội đêm nay, gà chưa kịp gáy, thì anh đã chối Thầy ba lần". 

Jesus entgegnete ihm: Amen, ich sage dir: In dieser Nacht, noch ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen.

Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you that this night, before the hour of the cock's cry, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me.

 

Ông Phêrô lại nói: "Dầu có phải chết với Thầy, con cũng không chối Thầy". Tất cả các môn đệ cũng đều nói như vậy.

Da sagte Petrus zu ihm: Und wenn ich mit dir sterben müsste - ich werde dich nie verleugnen. Das gleiche sagten auch alle anderen Jünger.

Peter says to him, Even if I am put to death with you, I will not be false to you. So said all the disciples.

 

Bấy giờ Ðức Giêsu đi cùng với các ông đến một thửa đất gọi là Ghếtsêmani. Người nói với các môn đệ: "Anh em ngồi lại đây, trong lúc Thầy đi đến đàng kia cầu nguyện". 

Darauf kam Jesus mit den Jüngern zu einem Grundstück, das man Getsemani nennt, und sagte zu ihnen: Setzt euch und wartet hier, während ich dort bete.

Then comes Jesus with them to a place named Gethsemane, and says to his disciples, Be seated here, while I go over there for prayer.

 

Rồi Người đưa ông Phêrô và hai người con ông Dêbêđê đi theo. Người bắt đầu cảm thấy buồn rầu xao xuyến. 

Und er nahm Petrus und die beiden Söhne des Zebedäus mit sich. Da ergriff ihn Angst und Traurigkeit,

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became sad and very troubled

 

Bấy giờ Người nói với các ông: "Tâm hồn Thầy buồn đến chết được. Anh em ở lại đây mà canh thức với Thầy".  

und er sagte zu ihnen: Meine Seele ist zu Tode betrübt. Bleibt hier und wacht mit mir!

Then says he to them, My soul is very sad, even to death: keep watch with me here

 

Người đi xa hơn một chút, sấp mặt xuống, cầu nguyện rằng: "Cha ơi, nếu được, xin cho chén này rời khỏi con. Nhưng xin đừng theo ý con, mà xin theo ý Cha".

Und er ging ein Stück weiter, warf sich zu Boden und betete: Mein Vater, wenn es möglich ist, gehe dieser Kelch an mir vorüber. Aber nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst.

And he went forward a little, and falling down on his face in prayer, he said, O my Father, if it is possible, let this cup go from me; but let not my pleasure, but yours be done.

 

Rồi Người đến chỗ các môn đệ, thấy các ông đang ngủ, liền nói với ông Phêrô: "Thế ra anh em không thể canh thức nổi với Thầy một giờ sao? 

Und er ging zu den Jüngern zurück und fand sie schlafend. Da sagte er zu Petrus: Konntet ihr nicht einmal eine Stunde mit mir wachen?

And he comes to the disciples, and sees that they are sleeping, and says to Peter, What, were you not able to keep watch with me one hour?

 

Anh em hãy canh thức và cầu nguyện, để khỏi lâm vào cơn cám dỗ. Vì tinh thần thì hăng hái,nhưng thể xác lại yếu đuối". 

Wacht und betet, damit ihr nicht in Versuchung geratet. Der Geist ist willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach.

Keep watch with prayer, so that you may not be put to the test: the spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is feeble.

 

Người lại đi cầu nguyện lần thứ hai và nói: "Lạy Cha, nếu chén này không thể rời khỏi con, nhất định con phải uống, thì xin cho ý Cha được thể hiện". 

Dann ging er zum zweitenmal weg und betete: Mein Vater, wenn dieser Kelch an mir nicht vorübergehen kann, ohne dass ich ihn trinke, geschehe dein Wille

Again, a second time he went away, and said in prayer, O my Father, if this may not go from me without my taking it, let your pleasure be done.

 

Rồi Người lại đến, thấy các môn đệ vẫn đang ngủ, vì mắt họ nặng trĩu. 

Als er zurückkam, fand er sie wieder schlafend, denn die Augen waren ihnen zugefallen.

And he came again and saw them sleeping, for their eyes were tired.

 

Người để mặc các ông mà đi cầu nguyện lần thứ ba, nói lại cũng một lời đó. 

Und er ging wieder von ihnen weg und betete zum drittenmal mit den gleichen Worten.

And he went away from them again, and a third time said the same prayer.

 

Bấy giờ Người đến chỗ các môn đệ và nói với các ông: "Lúc này mà còn ngủ, còn nghỉ sao? Này, đến giờ Con Người bị nộp vào tay những kẻ tội lỗi.

Danach kehrte er zu den Jüngern zurück und sagte zu ihnen: Schlaft ihr immer noch und ruht euch aus? Die Stunde ist gekommen; jetzt wird der Menschensohn den Sündern ausgeliefert.

Then he comes to the disciples; and says to them, Go on sleeping now, and take your rest: for the hour is come, and the Son of man is given into the hands of evil men.

 

Ðứng dậy, ta đi nào! Kìa kẻ nộp Thầy đã tới!"

Steht auf, wir wollen gehen! Seht, der Verräter, der mich ausliefert, ist da.

Up, let us be going: see, he who gives me up is near.

 

Người còn đang nói, thì Giuđa, một trong Nhóm Mười Hai, đã đến. Cùng đi với hắn, có cả một đám người đông đảo mang gươm giáo gậy gộc. Họ được các thượng tế và kỳ mục trong dân sai đến. 

Während er noch redete, kam Judas, einer der Zwölf, mit einer großen Schar von Männern, die mit Schwertern und Knüppeln bewaffnet waren; sie waren von den Hohenpriestern und den Ältesten des Volkes geschickt worden.

And while he was still talking, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a band armed with swords and sticks, from the chief priests and those in authority over the people.

 

Kẻ nộp Người đã cho họ một dấu hiệu, hắn dặn rằng: "Tôi hôn ai thì chính là người đó. Các anh bắt lấy!" 

Der Verräter hatte mit ihnen ein Zeichen verabredet und gesagt: Der, den ich küssen werde, der ist es; nehmt ihn fest.

Now the false one had given them a sign saying, The one to whom I give a kiss, that is he: take him.

 

Ngay lúc đó, Giuđa tiến lại gần Ðức Giêsu và nói: "Rápbi, xin chào Thầy!", rồi hôn Người.

Sogleich ging er auf Jesus zu und sagte: Sei gegrüßt, Rabbi! Und er küsste ihn.

And straight away he came to Jesus and said, Master! and gave him a kiss.

 

Ðức Giêsu bảo hắn: "Này bạn, bạn đến đây làm gì thì cứ làm đi!" Bấy giờ họ tiến đến, tra tay bắt Ðức Giêsu. 

Jesus erwiderte ihm: Freund, dazu bist du gekommen? Da gingen sie auf Jesus zu, ergriffen ihn und nahmen ihn fest.

And Jesus said to him, Friend, do that for which you have come. Then they came and put hands on Jesus, and took him.

 

Và kìa, một trong những kẻ theo Ðức Giêsu liền vung tay tuốt gươm của mình ra, chém phải tên đầy tớ của thượng tế, làm nó đứt tai. 

Doch einer von den Begleitern Jesu zog sein Schwert, schlug auf den Diener des Hohenpriesters ein und hieb ihm ein Ohr a

And one of those who were with Jesus put out his hand, and took out his sword and gave the servant of the high priest a blow, cutting off his ear.

 

Ðức Giêsu bảo người ấy: "Hãy xỏ gươm vào vỏ, vì tất cả những ai cầm gươm sẽ chết vì gươm. 

Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Steck dein Schwert in die Scheide; denn alle, die zum Schwert greifen, werden durch das Schwert umkommen.

Then says Jesus to him, Put up your sword again into its place: for all those who take the sword will come to death by the sword.

 

Hay anh tưởng là Thầy không thể kêu cứu với Cha Thầy sao? Người sẽ cấp ngay cho Thầy hơn mười hai đạo binh thiên thần! 

Oder glaubst du nicht, mein Vater würde mir sogleich mehr als zwölf Legionen Engel schicken, wenn ich ihn darum bitte?

Does it not seem possible to you that if I make request to my Father he will even now send me an army of angels?

 

Nhưng như thế, thì lời Kinh Thánh ứng nghiệm sao được? Vì theo đó, mọi sự phải xảy ra như vậy". 

Wie würde dann aber die Schrift erfüllt, nach der es so geschehen muss?

But how then would the Writings come true, which say that so it has to be?

 

Vào giờ ấy Ðức Giêsu nói với đám đông: "Các ông đem gươm giáo gậy gộc đến như để bắt tôi một tên cướp sao? Ngày ngày tôi vẫn ngồi giảng dạy ở Ðền Thờ thì các ông không bắt. 

Darauf sagte Jesus zu den Männern: Wie gegen einen Räuber seid ihr mit Schwertern und Knüppeln ausgezogen, um mich festzunehmen. Tag für Tag saß ich im Tempel und lehrte, und ihr habt mich nicht verhaftet

In that hour Jesus said to the people, Have you come out as against a thief with swords and sticks to take me? I was teaching every day in the Temple and you took me not.

 

Nhưng toàn bộ việc này xảy ra là để ứng nghiệm những lời chép trong Sách Các Ngôn Sứ". Bấy giờ các môn đệ bỏ Người mà chạy trốn hết.

Das alles aber ist geschehen, damit die Schriften der Propheten in Erfüllung gehen. Da verließen ihn alle Jünger und flohen.

But all this has taken place so that the writings of the prophets might come true. Then all his disciples went from him in flight.

 

Họ bắt Ðức Giêsu, rồi điệu đến thượng tế Caipha. Các kinh sư và kỳ mục đã tề tựu sẵn đó. 

Nach der Verhaftung führte man Jesus zum Hohenpriester Kajaphas, bei dem sich die Schriftgelehrten und die Ältesten versammelt hatten.

And those who had made Jesus prisoner took him away to the house of Caiaphas, the high priest, where the scribes and those in authority over the people had come together.

 

Ông Phêrô theo Người xa xa, đến tận dinh thượng tế. Ông vào bên trong ngồi với bọn nha dịch, xem kết cuộc ra sao.

Petrus folgte Jesus von weitem bis zum Hof des hohepriesterlichen Palastes; er ging in den Hof hinein und setzte sich zu den Dienern, um zu sehen, wie alles ausgehen würde.

But Peter went after him at a distance, to the house of the high priest, and went in and took his seat with the servants, to see the end.

 

Còn các thượng tế và toàn thể Thượng Hội Ðồng thì tìm chứng gian buộc tội Ðức Giêsu để lên án tử hình. 

Die Hohenpriester und der ganze Hohe Rat bemühten sich um falsche Zeugenaussagen gegen Jesus, um ihn zum Tod verurteilen zu können.

Now the chief priests and all the Sanhedrin were looking for false witness against Jesus, so that they might put him to death;

 

Nhưng họ tìm không ra, mặc dầu có nhiều kẻ đã đứng ra làm chứng gian. Sau cùng, có hai người bước ra, 

Sie erreichten aber nichts, obwohl viele falsche Zeugen auftraten. Zuletzt kamen zwei Männer

And they were not able to get it, though a number of false witnesses came.

 

khai rằng: "Tên này đã nói: tôi có thể phá Ðền Thờ Thiên Chúa, và nội trong ba ngày, sẽ xây cất lại".

und behaupteten: Er hat gesagt: Ich kann den Tempel Gottes niederreißen und in drei Tagen wieder aufbauen.

But later there came two who said, This man said, I am able to give the Temple of God to destruction, and to put it up again in three days.

 

Và vị thượng tế đứng lên hỏi Ðức Giêsu: "Ông không nói lại được một lời sao? Mấy người này tố cáo ông gì đó?"  

Da stand der Hohepriester auf und fragte Jesus: Willst du nichts sagen zu dem, was diese Leute gegen dich vorbringen?

And the high priest got up and said to him, Have you no answer? what is it which these say against you?

 

Nhưng Ðức Giêsu vẫn làm thinh. Vị thượng tế nói với Người: "Tôi nại đến Thiên Chúa hằng sống, mà truyền cho ông phải nói cho chúng tôi biết: ông có phải là Ðấng Kitô Con Thiên Chúa không? 

Jesus aber schwieg. Darauf sagte der Hohepriester zu ihm: Ich beschwöre dich bei dem lebendigen Gott, sag uns: Bist du der Messias, der Sohn Gottes?

But Jesus said not a word. And the high priest said to him, I put you on oath, by the living God, that you will say to us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.

 

Ðức Giêsu trả lời: "Chính ngài nói đó. Hơn nữa, tôi nói cho các ông hay: từ nay, các ông sẽ thấy Con Người ngự bên hữu Ðấng Toàn Năng và ngự giá mây trời mà đến". 

Jesus antwortete: Du hast es gesagt. Doch ich erkläre euch: Von nun an werdet ihr den Menschensohn zur Rechten der Macht sitzen und auf den Wolken des Himmels kommen sehen.

Jesus says to him, You say so: but I say to you, From now you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.

 

Bấy giờ vị thượng tế liền xé áo mình ra và nói: "Hắn nói phạm thượng! Chúng ta cần gì nhân chứng nữa? Ðấy, quý vị vừa nghe hắn nói phạm đến Thiên Chúa, 

Da zerriss der Hohepriester sein Gewand und rief: Er hat Gott gelästert! Wozu brauchen wir noch Zeugen? Jetzt habt ihr die Gotteslästerung selbst gehört.

Then the high priest, violently parting his robes, said, He has said evil against God: what more need have we of witnesses? for now his words against God have come to your ears:

 

quý vị nghĩ sao?" Họ liền đáp: "Hắn đáng chết!"

Was ist eure Meinung? Sie antworteten: Er ist schuldig und muss sterben.

What is your opinion? They made answer and said, It is right for him to be put to death.

 

Rồi họ khạc nhổ vào mặt và đấm đánh Người. Có kẻ lại tát Người 

Dann spuckten sie ihm ins Gesicht und schlugen ihn. Andere ohrfeigten ihn

Then they put shame on him, and were cruel to him: and some gave him blows, saying,

 

và nói: "Ông Kitô ơi, hãy nói tiên tri cho chúng tôi nghe đi: ai đánh ông đó?"

und riefen: Messias, du bist doch ein Prophet! Sag uns: Wer hat dich geschlagen?

Be a prophet, O Christ, and say who gave you a blow!

 

Còn ông Phêrô đang ngồi ngoài sân, thì có một người tớ gái đến bên ông và nói: "Cả bác nữa, bác cũng đã theo ông Giêsu, người Galilê đó chứ gì?" 

Petrus aber saß draußen im Hof. Da trat eine Magd zu ihm und sagte: Auch du warst mit diesem Jesus aus Galiläa zusammen.

Now Peter was seated in the open square outside the house: and a servant-girl came to him, saying, You were with Jesus the Galilaean.

 

Ông liền chối trước mặt mọi người mà nói: "Tôi không biết cô nói gì!" 

Doch er leugnete es vor allen Leuten und sagte: Ich weiß nicht, wovon du redest.

But he said before them all that it was false, saying, I have no knowledge of what you say.

 

Ông đi ra đến cổng, thì một người tớ gái khác thấy ông, liền nói với những người ở đó: "Bác này cũng theo ông Giêsu người Nadarét đấy". 

Und als er zum Tor hinausgehen wollte, sah ihn eine andere Magd und sagte zu denen, die dort standen: Der war mit Jesus aus Nazaret zusammen.

And when he had gone out into the doorway, another saw him and says to those who were there, This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.

 

Nhưng ông Phêrô lại thề mà chối: "Tôi không biết người ấy". 

Wieder leugnete er und schwor: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht.

And again he said with an oath, I have no knowledge of the man.

 

Một lát sau, những người đứng đó xích lại gần ông Phêrô mà nói: "Ðúng là bác cũng thuộc bọn họ. Cứ nghe giọng nói của bác là biết ngay". 

Kurz darauf kamen die Leute, die dort standen, zu Petrus und sagten: Wirklich, auch du gehörst zu ihnen, deine Mundart verrät dich.

And after a little time those who were near came and said to Peter, Truly you are one of them; because your talk is witness against you.

 

Bấy giờ ông Phêrô liền thốt lên những lời độc địa và thề rằng: "Tôi không biết người ấy". Ngay lúc đó, có tiếng gà gáy. 

Da fing er an, sich zu verfluchen und schwor: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht. Gleich darauf krähte ein Hahn,

Then with curses and oaths he said, I have no knowledge of the man. And straight away there came the cry of a cock.

 

Ông Phêrô sực nhớ lời Ðức Giêsu đã nói: Gà chưa kịp gáy thì anh đã chối Thầy ba lần". Ông ra ngoài, khóc lóc thảm thiết.

und Petrus erinnerte sich an das, was Jesus gesagt hatte: Ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich.

And the word of Jesus came back to Peter, when he said, Before the hour of the cock's cry, you will say three times that you have no knowledge of me. And he went out, weeping bitterly.

 

Trời vừa sáng, tất cả các thượng tế và kỳ mục trong dân cùng nhau bàn kế hại Ðức Giêsu, để xử tử Người. 

Als es Morgen wurde, fassten die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten des Volkes gemeinsam den Beschluss, Jesus hinrichten zu lassen.

Now when it was morning, all the chief priests and those in authority took thought together with the purpose of putting Jesus to death.

 

Sau đó, họ trói Người lại và giải đi nộp cho tổng trấn Philatô.

Sie ließen ihn fesseln und abführen und lieferten ihn dem Statthalter Pilatus aus.

And they put cords on him and took him away, and gave him up to Pilate, the ruler.

 

Bấy giờ, Giuđa, kẻ nộp Người, thấy Người bị kết án thì hối hận. Hắn đem ba mươi đồng bạc trả lại cho các thượng tế và kỳ mục  

Als nun Judas, der ihn verraten hatte, sah, dass Jesus zum Tod verurteilt war, reute ihn seine Tat. Er brachte den Hohenpriestern und den Ältesten die dreißig Silberstücke zurück

Then Judas, who was false to im, seeing that he was to be put to death, in his regret took back the thirty bits of silver to the chief priests and those in authority,

 

mà nói: "Tôi đã phạm tội nộp người vô tội, khiến Người phải chết oan". Nhưng họ đáp: "Can gì đến chúng tôi. Mặc kệ anh!" 

und sagte: Ich habe gesündigt, ich habe euch einen unschuldigen Menschen ausgeliefert. Sie antworteten: Was geht das uns an? Das ist deine Sache.

Saying, I have done wrong in giving into your hands an upright man. But they said, What is that to us? it is your business.

 

Giuđa ném số bạc vào Ðền Thờ rồi lui ra và đi thắt cổ. 

Da warf er die Silberstücke in den Tempel; dann ging er weg und erhängte sich.

And he put down the silver in the Temple and went out, and put himself to death by hanging.

 

Các thượng tế lượm lấy số bạc ấy mà nói: "Không được phép bỏ vào quỷ Ðền Thờ, vì đây là giá máu".  

Die Hohenpriester nahmen die Silberstücke und sagten: Man darf das Geld nicht in den Tempelschatz tun; denn es klebt Blut daran.

And the chief priests took the silver and said, It is not right to put it in the Temple store for it is the price of blood.

 

Sau khi bàn định với nhau, họ dùng tiền đó tậu "Thửa Ruộng Ông Thợ Gốm" để làm nơi chôn cất khách ngoại kiều.

Und sie beschlossen, von dem Geld den Töpferacker zu kaufen als Begräbnisplatz für die Fremden.

And they made a decision to get with the silver the potter's field, as a place for the dead of other countries.

 

Vì vậy mà thửa ruộng ấy gọi là "Ruộng Máu" cho đến ngày nay. 

Deshalb heißt dieser Acker bis heute Blutacker.

For this cause that field was named, The field of blood, to this day.

 

Thế là ứng nghiệm lời ngôn sứ Giêrêmia: "Họ đã lượm lấy ba mươi đồng bạc, tức là cái giá mà một số con cái Ítraen đã đặt khi đánh giá Người. 

So erfüllte sich, was durch den Propheten Jeremia gesagt worden ist: Sie nahmen die dreißig Silberstücke - das ist der Preis, den er den Israeliten wert war -

Then came true that which was said by Jeremiah the prophet, And they took the thirty bits of silver, the price of him who was valued by the children of Israel;

 

Và họ lấy số bạc đó mà mua "Thửa Ruộng Ông Thợ Gốm", theo những điều Ðức Chúa đã truyền cho tôi".

und kauften für das Geld den Töpferacker, wie mir der Herr befohlen hatte.

And they gave them for the potter's field, as I had word from the Lord.

 

Ðức Giêsu bị điệu ra trước mặt tổng trấn; tổng trấn hỏi Người: "Ông là vua dân Dothái sao?" Ðức Giêsu trả lời: "Chính ngài nói đó". 

Als Jesus vor dem Statthalter stand, fragte ihn dieser: Bist du der König der Juden? Jesus antwortete: Du sagst es.

And Jesus was before the ruler, who put a question to him, Are you the King of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, You say so.

 

Nhưng khi các thượng tế và kỳ mục tố Người, thì Người không trả lời một tiếng.

Als aber die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten ihn anklagten, gab er keine Antwort.

But when the chief priests and those in authority made statements against him, he gave no answer.

 

Bấy giờ ông Philatô hỏi Người: "Ông không nghe bao nhiêu điều họ làm chứng chống lại ông đó sao?" 

Da sagte Pilatus zu ihm: Hörst du nicht, was sie dir alles vorwerfen?

Then says Pilate to him, Do you give no attention to what their witnesses say against you?

 

Nhưng Ðức Giêsu không trả lời ông về một điều nào, khiến tổng trấn rất đỗi ngạc nhiên.

Er aber antwortete ihm auf keine einzige Frage, so dass der Statthalter sehr verwundert war.

And he gave him no answer, not even a word: so that the ruler was greatly surprised.

 

Vào mỗi dịp lễ lớn, tổng trấn có lệ phóng thích cho đám đông một người tù, tùy ý họ muốn. 

Jeweils zum Fest pflegte der Statthalter einen Gefangenen freizulassen, den sich das Volk auswählen konnte.

Now at the feast it was the way for the ruler to let free to the people one prisoner, at their selection.

 

Mà khi ấy có một người tù khét tiếng, tên là Baraba. 

Damals war gerade ein berüchtigter Mann namens Barabbas im Gefängnis.

And they had then an important prisoner, whose name was Barabbas.

 

Vậy khi đám đông đã tụ họp lại, thì tổng trấn Philatô nói với họ: "Các ngươi muốn ta phóng thích ai cho các người đây? Baraba hay Giêsu, cũng gọi là Kitô?" 

Pilatus fragte nun die Menge, die zusammengekommen war: Was wollt ihr? Wen soll ich freilassen, Barabbas oder Jesus, den man den Messias nennt?

So when they came together, Pilate said to them, Whom will you have? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is named Christ?

 

Bởi ông thừa biết chỉ vì ghen tị mà họ nộp Người.

Er wusste nämlich, dass man Jesus nur aus Neid an ihn ausgeliefert hatte.

For he saw that for envy they had given him up.

 

Lúc tổng trấn đang ngồi xử án, thì bà vợ sai người đến nói với ông: Ông đừng nhúng tay vào vụ xử người công chính này, vì hôm nay, trong chiêm bao, tôi đã khổ nhiều vì ông ấy".

Während Pilatus auf dem Richterstuhl saß, ließ ihm seine Frau sagen: Lass die Hände von diesem Mann, er ist unschuldig. Ich hatte seinetwegen heute nacht einen schrecklichen Traum.

And while he was on the judge's seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that upright man, for I have had much trouble this day in a dream because of him.

 

Nhưng các thượng tế và kỳ mục lại xúi đám đông đòi tha tên Baraba mà giết Ðức Giêsu. 

Inzwischen überredeten die Hohenpriester und die Ältesten die Menge, die Freilassung des Barabbas zu fordern, Jesus aber hinrichten zu lassen.

Now the chief priests and those in authority got the people to make request for Barabbas, and for Jesus to be put to death.

 

Tổng trấn hỏi họ: "Trong hai tên này, các ngươi muốn ta tha ai cho các ngươi?" Họ thưa: "Baraba!" 

Der Statthalter fragte sie: Wen von beiden soll ich freilassen? Sie riefen: Barabbas!

But the ruler made answer and said to them, Which of the two is it your pleasure that I let go free? And they said, Barabbas.

 

Tổng trấn Philatô nói tiếp: "Thế còn ông Giêsu, cũng gọi là Kitô, ta sẽ làm gì đây?" Mọi người đồng thanh: "Ðóng đinh nó vào thập giá!" 

Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: Was soll ich dann mit Jesus tun, den man den Messias nennt? Da schrien sie alle: Ans Kreuz mit ihm!

Pilate says to them, What, then, am I to do with Jesus, who is named Christ? They all say, Let him be put to death on the cross.

 

Tổng trấn lại nói: "Thế ông ấy đã làm điều gì gian ác?" Họ càng la to: "Ðóng đinh nó vào thập giá!" 

Er erwiderte: Was für ein Verbrechen hat er denn begangen? Da schrien sie noch lauter: Ans Kreuz mit ihm!

And he said, Why, what evil has he done? But they gave loud cries, saying, To the cross with him!

 

Tổng trấn Philatô thấy đã chẳng được ích gì mà còn thêm náo động, nên lấy nước rửa tay trước mặt đám đông mà nói: "Ta vô can trong vụ đổ máu người này. Mặc các ngươi liệu lấy!" 

Als Pilatus sah, dass er nichts erreichte, sondern dass der Tumult immer größer wurde, ließ er Wasser bringen, wusch sich vor allen Leuten die Hände und sagte: Ich bin unschuldig am Blut dieses Menschen. Das ist eure Sache!

So when Pilate saw that he was able to do nothing, but that trouble was working up, he took water and, washing his hands before the people, said, The blood of this upright man is not on my hands: you are responsible.

 

Toàn dân đáp lại: "Máu hắn đổ xuống đầu chúng tôi và con cháu chúng tôi!" 

Da rief das ganze Volk: Sein Blut komme über uns und unsere Kinder!

And all the people made answer and said, Let his blood be on us, and on our children.

 

Bấy giờ, tổng trấn phóng thích tên Baraba cho họ, còn Ðức Giêsu, thì sau khi truyền đánh đòn, ông trao cho họ đóng đinh vào thập giá.

Darauf ließ er Barabbas frei und gab den Befehl, Jesus zu geißeln und zu kreuzigen.

Then he let Barabbas go free: but after having Jesus whipped, he gave him up to be put to death on the cross.

 

Bấy giờ lính của tổng trấn đem Ðức Giêsu vào trong dinh, và tập trung cả cơ đội quanh Người. 

Da nahmen die Soldaten des Statthalters Jesus, führten ihn in das Prätorium, das Amtsgebäude des Statthalters, und versammelten die ganze Kohorte um ihn.

Then the ruler's armed men took Jesus into the open square, and got all their band together.

 

Chúng lột áo Người ra, khoác cho Người một tấm áo choàng đỏ. 

Sie zogen ihn aus und legten ihm einen purpurroten Mantel um.

And they took off his clothing, and put on him a red robe.

 

Rồi kết một vòng gai làm vương miện đặt lên đầu Người, và trao vào tay mặt Người một cây sậy. Chúng quỳ gối trước mặt Người mà nhạo rằng: "Vạn tuế Ðức Vua dân Dothái!" 

Dann flochten sie einen Kranz aus Dornen; den setzten sie ihm auf und gaben ihm einen Stock in die rechte Hand. Sie fielen vor ihm auf die Knie und verhöhnten ihn, indem sie riefen: Heil dir, König der Juden!

And they made a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and put a rod in his right hand, and they went down on their knees before him, and made sport of him, saying, Long life to the King of the Jews.

 

Rồi chúng khạc nhổ vào Người và lấy cây sậy mà đập vào đầu Người. 

Und sie spuckten ihn an, nahmen ihm den Stock wieder weg und schlugen ihm damit auf den Kopf.

And they put shame on him, and gave him blows on the head with the rod.

 

Chế giễu chán, chúng lột áo choàng ra và cho Người mặc lại áo của mình, rồi điệu Người đi đóng đinh vào thập giá.

Nachdem sie so ihren Spott mit ihm getrieben hatten, nahmen sie ihm den Mantel ab und zogen ihm seine eigenen Kleider wieder an. Dann führten sie Jesus hinaus, um ihn zu kreuzigen.

And when they had made sport of him, they took the robe off him, and put his clothing on him, and took him away to put him on the cross.

 

Ðang đi ra, thì chúng gặp một người Kyrênê, tên là Simon; chúng bắt ông vác thập giá của Người. 

Auf dem Weg trafen sie einen Mann aus Zyrene namens Simon; ihn zwangen sie, Jesus das Kreuz zu tragen.

And while they were coming out, they saw a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they made him go with them, so that he might take up his cross.

 

Khi đến nơi gọi là Gôngôtha, nghĩa là Ðồi Sọ, 

So kamen sie an den Ort, der Golgota genannt wird, das heißt Schädelhöhe.

And when they came to the place named Golgotha, that is to say, Dead Man's Head,

 

chúng cho người uống rượu pha mật đắng, nhưng Người chỉ nếm một chút mà không chịu uống. 

Und sie gaben ihm Wein zu trinken, der mit Galle vermischt war; als er aber davon gekostet hatte, wollte er ihn nicht trinken.

They gave him wine mixed with bitter drink: and after tasting it, he took no more.

 

Ðóng đinh Người vào thập giá xong, chúng đem áo Người ra bắt thăm mà chia nhau. 

Nachdem sie ihn gekreuzigt hatten, warfen sie das Los und verteilten seine Kleider unter sich.

And when they had put him on the cross, they made division of his clothing among them by the decision of chance.

 

Rồi chúng ngồi đó mà canh giữ Người.

Dann setzten sie sich nieder und bewachten ihn.

And they were seated there watching him.

 

Phía trên đầu Người, chúng đặt bản án xử tội Người viết rằng: "Người này là Giêsu, vua người Dothái". 

Über seinem Kopf hatten sie eine Aufschrift angebracht, die seine Schuld angab: Das ist Jesus, der König der Juden.

And they put up over his head the statement of his crime in writing, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

 

Bấy giờ, có hai tên cướp cùng bị đóng đinh với Người, một tên bên phải, một tên bên trái.

Zusammen mit ihm wurden zwei Räuber gekreuzigt, der eine rechts von ihm, der andere links.

Then two thieves were put on crosses with him, one on the right and one on the left.

 

Kẻ qua người lại đều nhục mạ Người, vừa lắc đầu 

Die Leute, die vorbeikamen, verhöhnten ihn, schüttelten den Kopf

And those who went by said bitter words to him, shaking their heads and saying,

 

vừa nói: "Mi là kẻ phá được Ðền Thờ, và nội trong ba ngày xây lại được, hãy cứu lấy mình đi! Nếu mi là Con Thiên Chúa, thì xuống khỏi thập giá xem nào!" 

und riefen: Du willst den Tempel niederreißen und in drei Tagen wieder aufbauen? Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, hilf dir selbst, und steig herab vom Kreuz!

You who would give the Temple to destruction and put it up again in three days, get yourself free: if you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.

 

Các thượng tế, kinh sư và kỳ mục cũng chế giễu Người mà nói: 

Auch die Hohenpriester, die Schriftgelehrten und die Ältesten verhöhnten ihn und sagten:

In the same way, the chief priests, making sport of him, with the scribes and those in authority, said,

 

"Hắn cứu được thiên hạ, mà chẳng cứu nổi mình. Hắn là vua Ítraen! bây giờ hắn cứ xuống khỏi thập giá đi, thì chúng ta tin hắn liền! 

Anderen hat er geholfen, sich selbst kann er nicht helfen. Er ist doch der König von Israel! Er soll vom Kreuz herabsteigen, dann werden wir an ihn glauben.

A saviour of others, he has no salvation for himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will have faith in him.

 

Hắn cậy vào Thiên Chúa, thì bây giờ Người cứu hắn đi, nếu quả thật Người thương hắn! Vì hắn đã nói: "Ta là Con Thiên Chúa!" 

Er hat auf Gott vertraut: der soll ihn jetzt retten, wenn er an ihm Gefallen hat; er hat doch gesagt: Ich bin Gottes Sohn.

He put his faith in God; let God be his saviour now, if he will have him; for he said, I am the Son of God.

 

Cả những tên cướp cùng bị đóng đinh với Người cũng sỉ vả Người như thế.

Ebenso beschimpften ihn die beiden Räuber, die man zusammen mit ihm gekreuzigt hatte.

And the thieves who were on the crosses said evil words to him.

 

Từ giờ thứ sáu, bóng tối bao phủ cả mặt đất, mãi đến giờ thứ chín. 

Von der sechsten bis zur neunten Stunde herrschte eine Finsternis im ganzen Land.

Now from the sixth hour it was dark over all the land till the ninth hour.

 

Vào giờ thứ chín, Ðức Giêsu kêu lớn tiếng: "Êli, Êli, lêmasabácthani", nghĩa là "Lạy Thiên Chúa, lạy Thiên Chúa của con, sao Ngài bỏ rơi con?" 

Um die neunte Stunde rief Jesus laut: Eli, Eli, lema sabachtani?, das heißt: Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen?

And about the ninth hour Jesus gave a loud cry, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is, My God, my God, why are you turned away from me?

 

Nghe vậy, một vài người đứng đó liền nói: "Hắn ta gọi ông Êlia!" 

Einige von denen, die dabeistanden und es hörten, sagten: Er ruft nach Elija.

And some of those who were near by, hearing it, said, This man is crying to Elijah.

 

Lập tức, một người trong bọn chạy đi lấy miếng bọt biển, thấm đầy giấm, buộc vào đầu cây sậy và đưa lên cho Người uống. 

Sogleich lief einer von ihnen hin, tauchte einen Schwamm in Essig, steckte ihn auf einen Stock und gab Jesus zu trinken.

And straight away one of them went quickly, and took a sponge, and made it full of bitter wine, and put it on a rod and gave him drink.

 

Còn những người khác lại bảo: "Khoan đã, để xem ông Êlia có đến cứu hắn không!" 

Die anderen aber sagten: Lass doch, wir wollen sehen, ob Elija kommt und ihm hilft.

And the rest said, Let him be; let us see if Elijah will come to his help.

 

Ðức Giêsu lại kêu một tiếng lớn, rồi trút linh hồn.

Jesus aber schrie noch einmal laut auf. Dann hauchte er den Geist aus.

And Jesus gave another loud cry, and gave up his spirit.

 

Và kìa, bức màn trướng trong Ðền Thờ bị xé ra làm hai từ trên xuống dưới. Ðất rung đá vỡ. 

Da riss der Vorhang im Tempel von oben bis unten entzwei. Die Erde bebte, und die Felsen spalteten sich.

And the curtain of the Temple was parted in two from end to end; and there was an earth-shock; and the rocks were broken;

 

Mồ mả bật tung, và xác của nhiều vị thánh đã an nghỉ được chỗi dậy. 

Die Gräber öffneten sich, und die Leiber vieler Heiligen, die entschlafen waren, wurden auferweckt.

And the resting-places of the dead came open; and the bodies of a number of sleeping saints came to life;

 

Sau khi Chúa chỗi dậy, các ngài ra khỏi mồ, vào thành thánh, và hiện ra với nhiều người. 

Nach der Auferstehung Jesu verließen sie ihre Gräber, kamen in die Heilige Stadt und erschienen vielen.

And coming out of their resting-places, after he had come again from the dead, they went into the holy town and were seen by a number of people.

 

Thấy động đất và các sự việc xảy ra, viên đại đội trưởng và những người cùng ông canh giữ Ðức Giêsu đều rất đỗi sợ hãi và nói: "Quả thật ông này là Con Thiên Chúa".

Als der Hauptmann und die Männer, die mit ihm zusammen Jesus bewachten, das Erdbeben bemerkten und sahen, was geschah, erschraken sie sehr und sagten: Wahrhaftig, das war Gottes Sohn!

Now the captain and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earth-shock and the things which were done, were in great fear and said, Truly this was a son of God.

 

Ở đó, cũng có nhiều người phụ nữ nhìn xem từ đàng xa. Các bà này đã theo Ðức Giêsu từ Galilê để giúp đỡ Người. 

Auch viele Frauen waren dort und sahen von weitem zu; sie waren Jesus seit der Zeit in Galiläa nachgefolgt und hatten ihm gedient.

And a number of women were there, watching from a distance, who had come with Jesus from Galilee, waiting on his needs.

 

trong số đó, có bà Maria Mácđala, bà Maria mẹ các ông Giacôbê và Giôxép, và bà mẹ các con ông Dêbêđê.

Zu ihnen gehörten Maria aus Magdala, Maria, die Mutter des Jakobus und des Josef, und die Mutter der Söhne des Zebedäus.

Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary, the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

 

Chiều đến, có một người giàu sang tới. Ông này là người thành Arimathê, tên là Giôxép, và cũng là môn đệ Ðức Giêsu. 

Gegen Abend kam ein reicher Mann aus Arimathäa namens Josef; auch er war ein Jünger Jesu.

And in the evening, there came a man of wealth from Arimathaea, Joseph by name, who was a disciple of Jesus:

 

Ông đến gặp ông Philatô để xin thi hài Ðức Giêsu. Bấy giờ tổng trấn Philatô ra lệnh trao trả thi hài cho ông. 

Er ging zu Pilatus und bat um den Leichnam Jesu. Da befahl Pilatus, ihm den Leichnam zu überlassen.

This man went in to Pilate, and made a request for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate gave orders for it to be given to him.

 

Khi đã nhận thi hài, ông Giôxép lấy tấm vải gai sạch mà liệm, 

Josef nahm ihn und hüllte ihn in ein reines Leinentuch.

And Joseph took the body, folding it in clean linen,

 

và đặt vào ngôi mộ mới, đã đục sẵn trong núi đá, dành cho ông. Ông lăn tảng đá to lấp cửa mồ, rồi ra về. 

Dann legte er ihn in ein neues Grab, das er für sich selbst in einen Felsen hatte hauen lassen. Er wälzte einen großen Stein vor den Eingang des Grabes und ging weg.

And put it in the resting-place which had been cut out of the rock for himself; and after rolling a great stone to the door of it he went away.

 

Còn bà Maria Mácđala và một bà Maria khác ở lại đó, ngồi đối diện vào mồ.

Auch Maria aus Magdala und die andere Maria waren dort; sie saßen dem Grab gegenüber.

And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, seated by the place of the dead.

 

Hôm sau, tức là khi ngày áp lễ đã qua, các thượng tế và những người Pharisêu kéo nhau đến ông Philatô, 

Am nächsten Tag gingen die Hohenpriester und die Pharisäer gemeinsam zu Pilatus; es war der Tag nach dem Rüsttag.

Now on the day after the getting ready of the Passover, the chief priests and Pharisees came together to Pilate,

 

và nói: "Thưa ngài, chúng tôi nhớ tên bịp bợm ấy khi còn sống có nói: "Sau ba ngày, Ta sẽ chỗi dậy". 

Sie sagten: Herr, es fiel uns ein, dass dieser Betrüger, als er noch lebte, behauptet hat: Ich werde nach drei Tagen auferstehen.

Saying, Sir, we have in mind how that false man said, while he was still living, After three days I will come again from the dead.

 

Vậy xin quan lớn truyền canh mộ kỹ càng cho đến ngày thứ ba, kẻo môn đệ hắm đến lấy trộm hắn đi, rồi phao với dân là hắn đã từ cõi chết chỗi dậy. Và như thế, chuyện bịp bợm cuối cùng này sẽ còn tệ hại hơn chuyện trước".

Gib also den Befehl, dass das Grab bis zum dritten Tag sicher bewacht wird. Sonst könnten seine Jünger kommen, ihn stehlen und dem Volk sagen: Er ist von den Toten auferstanden. Und dieser letzte Betrug wäre noch schlimmer als alles zuvor.

Give orders, then, that the place where his body is may be made safe till the third day, for fear that his disciples come and take him away secretly and say to the people, He has come back from the dead: and the last error will be worse than the first.

 

 

Ông Philatô bảo họ: "Thì có sẵn lính đó, các người hãy đi mà canh giữ theo cách các ngươi biết!" 

Pilatus antwortete ihnen: Ihr sollt eine Wache haben. Geht und sichert das Grab, so gut ihr könnt.
