Gospel to Matthew 13, 54-58

 

Khi ấy, Chúa Giêsu trở về quê quán Người, và giảng dạy người ta trong hội đường, khiến người ta ngạc nhiên và nói rằng: “Bởi đâu ông này được sự khôn ngoan và quyền làm phép lạ như vậy?

Jesus kam in seine Heimatstadt und lehrte die Menschen dort in der Synagoge. Da staunten alle und sagten: Woher hat er diese Weisheit und die Kraft, Wunder zu tun?

And coming into his country, he gave them teaching in their Synagogue, so that they were greatly surprised and said, Where did this man get this wisdom and these works of power?

 

Nào ông chẳng phải là con bác thợ mộc sao? Nào mẹ ông chẳng phải là bà Maria, và Giacôbê, Giuse, Simon, Giuđa chẳng phải là anh em ông sao?

Ist das nicht der Sohn des Zimmermanns? Heißt nicht seine Mutter Maria und sind nicht Jakobus, Josef, Simon und Judas seine Brüder?

Is not this the woodworker's son? is not his mother named Mary? and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

Và chị em ông, nào chẳng phải những người ở nơi chúng ta sao? Vậy bởi đâu ông được những sự ấy?”

Leben nicht alle seine Schwestern unter uns? Woher also hat er das alles?

And his sisters, are they not all with us? from where, then, has he all these things?

Và họ vấp phạm đến Người.Nhưng Chúa Giêsu phán cùng họ rằng: “Không tiên tri nào mà không được vinh dự, trừ nơi quê quán và nhà mình”.

Und sie nahmen Anstoß an ihm und lehnten ihn ab. Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: Nirgends hat ein Prophet so wenig Ansehen wie in seiner Heimat und in seiner Familie.

And they were bitter against him. But Jesus said to them, A prophet is nowhere without honour but in his country and among his family.

Người không làm nhiều phép lạ ở đó, vì họ chẳng có lòng tin.

Und wegen ihres Unglaubens tat er dort nur wenige Wunder.

And the works of power which he did there were small in number because they had no faith.
