Gospel to John 18,1-40.19, 1-42

 

Khi ấy, Đức Giê-su đi ra cùng với các môn đệ, sang bên kia suối Kít-rôn. Ở đó, có một thửa vườn, Người cùng với các môn đệ đi vào.

Jesus ging mit seinen Jüngern hinaus, auf die andere Seite des Baches Kidron. Dort war ein Garten; in den ging er mit seinen Jüngern hinein.

When Jesus had said these words he went out with his disciples over the stream Kedron to a garden, into which he went with his disciples.

 

Giu-đa, kẻ nộp Người, cũng biết nơi này, vì Người thường tụ họp ở đó với các môn đệ.

Auch Judas, der Verräter, der ihn auslieferte, kannte den Ort, weil Jesus dort oft mit seinen Jüngern zusammengekommen war.

And Judas, who was false to him, had knowledge of the place because Jesus went there frequently with his disciples.

 

Vậy, Giu-đa tới đó, dẫn một toán quân cùng đám thuộc hạ của các thượng tế và nhóm Pha-ri-sêu; họ mang theo đèn đuốc và khí giới.

Judas holte die Soldaten und die Gerichtsdiener der Hohenpriester und der Pharisäer, und sie kamen dorthin mit Fackeln, Laternen und Waffen.

So Judas, getting a band of armed men and police from the chief priests and Pharisees, went there with lights and with arms.

 

Đức Giê-su biết mọi việc sắp xảy đến cho mình, nên tiến ra và hỏi: "Các anh tìm ai?"

Jesus, der alles wusste, was mit ihm geschehen sollte, ging hinaus und fragte sie: Wen sucht ihr?

Then Jesus, having knowledge of everything which was coming on him, went forward and said to them, Who are you looking for?

 

Họ đáp: "Tìm ông Giê-su Na-da-rét." Người nói: "Chính tôi đây." Giu-đa, kẻ nộp Người, cũng đứng chung với họ.

Sie antworteten ihm: Jesus von Nazaret. Er sagte zu ihnen: Ich bin es. Auch Judas, der Verräter, stand bei ihnen.

Their answer was, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus said, I am he. And Judas, who was false to him, was there at their side.

 

Khi Người vừa nói: "Chính tôi đây", thì họ lùi lại và ngã xuống đất.

Als er zu ihnen sagte: Ich bin es!, wichen sie zurück und stürzten zu Boden.

And when he said to them, I am he, they went back, falling to the earth.

 

 

Người lại hỏi một lần nữa: "Các anh tìm ai?" Họ đáp: "Tìm ông Giê-su Na-da-rét."

Er fragte sie noch einmal: Wen sucht ihr? Sie sagten: Jesus von Nazaret.

So again he put the question to them, Who are you looking for? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.

 

Đức Giê-su nói: "Tôi đã bảo các anh là chính tôi đây. Vậy, nếu các anh tìm bắt tôi, thì hãy để cho những người này đi."

Jesus antwortete: Ich habe euch gesagt, dass ich es bin. Wenn ihr mich sucht, dann lasst diese gehen!

Jesus made answer, I have said that I am he; if you are looking for me, let these men go away.

 

Thế là ứng nghiệm lời Đức Giê-su đã nói: "Những người Cha đã ban cho con, con không để mất một ai

So sollte sich das Wort erfüllen, das er gesagt hatte: Ich habe keinen von denen verloren, die du mir gegeben hast.

(He said this so that his words might come true, I have kept safe all those whom you gave to me.)

 

." Ông Si-mon Phê-rô có sẵn một thanh gươm, bèn tuốt ra, nhằm người đầy tớ vị thượng tế, mà chém đứt tai phải của y. Người đầy tớ ấy tên là Man-khô.

Simon Petrus aber, der ein Schwert bei sich hatte, zog es, schlug nach dem Diener des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm das rechte Ohr ab; der Diener hieß Malchus.

Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, took it out and gave the high priest's servant a blow, cutting off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.

Đức Giê-su nói với ông Phê-rô: "Hãy xỏ gươm vào bao. Chén đắng Chúa Cha đã trao cho Thầy, lẽ nào Thầy chẳng uống?"

Da sagte Jesus zu Petrus: Steck das Schwert in die Scheide! Der Kelch, den mir der Vater gegeben hat - soll ich ihn nicht trinken?

Then Jesus said to Peter, Put back your sword: am I not to take the cup which my Father has given to me?

 

Bấy giờ toán quân và viên chỉ huy cùng đám thuộc hạ của người Do-thái bắt Đức Giê-su và trói Người lại.

Die Soldaten, ihre Befehlshaber und die Gerichtsdiener der Juden nahmen Jesus fest, fesselten ihn

Then the band and the chief captain and the police took Jesus and put cords round him.

 

Trước tiên, họ điệu Đức Giê-su đến ông Khan-na là nhạc phụ ông Cai-pha.

und führten ihn zuerst zu Hannas; er war nämlich der Schwiegervater des Kajaphas, der in jenem Jahr Hohepriester war.

They took him first to Annas, because Annas was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was the high priest that year.

 

Ông Cai-pha làm thượng tế năm đó. Chính ông này đã đề nghị với người Do-thái là nên để một người chết thay cho dân thì hơn.

Kajaphas aber war es, der den Juden den Rat gegeben hatte: Es ist besser, dass ein einziger Mensch für das Volk stirbt.

It was Caiaphas who had said to the Jews that it was in their interest for one man to be put to death for the people.

 

Ông Si-mon Phê-rô và một môn đệ khác đi theo Đức Giê-su. Người môn đệ này quen biết vị thượng tế, nên cùng với Đức Giê-su vào sân trong của tư dinh vị thượng tế.

Simon Petrus und ein anderer Jünger folgten Jesus. Dieser Jünger war mit dem Hohenpriester bekannt und ging mit Jesus in den Hof des hohepriesterlichen Palastes.

And Simon Peter went after Jesus with another disciple. Now that disciple was a friend of the high priest and he went in with Jesus into the house of the high priest;

 

Còn ông Phê-rô đứng ở phía ngoài, gần cổng. Người môn đệ kia quen biết vị thượng tế ra nói với chị giữ cổng, rồi dẫn ông Phê-rô vào.

Petrus aber blieb draußen am Tor stehen. Da kam der andere Jünger, der Bekannte des Hohenpriesters, heraus; er sprach mit der Pförtnerin und führte Petrus hinein.

But Peter was kept outside at the door. Then this other disciple, who was a friend of the high priest, came out and had a word with the girl who kept the door, and took Peter in.

 

Người tớ gái giữ cổng nói với ông Phê-rô: "Cả bác nữa, bác không thuộc nhóm môn đệ của người ấy sao?" Ông liền đáp: "Đâu phải."

Da sagte die Pförtnerin zu Petrus: Bist du nicht auch einer von den Jüngern dieses Menschen? Er antwortete: Nein.

Then the girl who was the door-keeper said to Peter, Are you not one of this man's disciples? In answer he said, I am not.

 

Vì trời lạnh, các đầy tớ và thuộc hạ đốt than và đứng sưởi ở đó; ông Phê-rô cũng đứng sưởi với họ.

Die Diener und die Knechte hatten sich ein Kohlenfeuer angezündet und standen dabei, um sich zu wärmen; denn es war kalt. Auch Petrus stand bei ihnen und wärmte sich.

Now the servants and the police had made a fire of coals because it was cold; they were warming themselves in front of it and Peter was there with them, warming himself.

 

Vị thượng tế tra hỏi Đức Giê-su về các môn đệ và giáo huấn của Người

Der Hohepriester befragte Jesus über seine Jünger und über seine Lehre.

Then the high priest put questions to Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.

 

Đức Giê-su trả lời: "Tôi đã nói công khai trước mặt thiên hạ; tôi hằng giảng dạy trong hội đường và tại Đền Thờ, nơi mọi người Do-thái tụ họp. Tôi không hề nói điều gì lén lút.

Jesus antwortete ihm: Ich habe offen vor aller Welt gesprochen. Ich habe immer in der Synagoge und im Tempel gelehrt, wo alle Juden zusammenkommen. Nichts habe ich im Geheimen gesprochen.

Jesus made answer, I said things openly to the world at all times; I have given my teaching in the Synagogues and in the Temple to which all the Jews come; and I have said nothing secretly.

 

Sao ông lại hỏi tôi? Điều tôi đã nói, xin cứ hỏi những người đã nghe tôi. Chính họ biết tôi đã nói gì."

Warum fragst du mich? Frag doch die, die mich gehört haben, was ich zu ihnen gesagt habe; sie wissen, was ich geredet habe.

Why are you questioning me? put questions to my hearers about what I have said to them: they have knowledge of what I said.

 

Đức Giê-su vừa dứt lời, thì một tên trong nhóm thuộc hạ đứng đó vả vào mặt Người mà nói: "Anh trả lời vị thượng tế như thế ư?"

Auf diese Antwort hin schlug einer von den Knechten, der dabeistand, Jesus ins Gesicht und sagte: Redest du so mit dem Hohenpriester?

When he said this, one of the police by his side gave him a blow with his open hand, saying, Do you give such an answer to the high priest?

 

Đức Giê-su đáp:"Nếu tôi nói sai, anh chứng minh xem sai ở chỗ nào; còn nếu tôi nói phải, sao anh lại đánh tôi?"

Jesus entgegnete ihm: Wenn es nicht recht war, was ich gesagt habe, dann weise es nach; wenn es aber recht war, warum schlägst du mich?

Jesus said in answer, If I have said anything evil, give witness to the evil: but if I said what is true, why do you give me blows?

 

Ông Khan-na cho giải Người đến thượng tế Cai-pha, Người vẫn bị trói.

Danach schickte ihn Hannas gefesselt zum Hohenpriester Kajaphas.

Then Annas sent him chained to Caiaphas, the high priest.

 

Còn ông Si-mon Phê-rô thì vẫn đứng sưởi ở đó. Người ta nói với ông: "Cả bác nữa, bác không thuộc nhóm môn đệ của ông ấy sao?" Ông liền chối: "Đâu phải."

Simon Petrus aber stand am Feuer und wärmte sich. Sie sagten zu ihm: Bist nicht auch du einer von seinen Jüngern? Er leugnete und sagte: Nein.

But Simon Peter was still there warming himself by the fire. They said to him, Are you not one of his disciples? He said, No, I am not.

 

Một trong các đầy tớ của vị thượng tế, có họ với người bị ông Phê-rô chém đứt tai, lên tiếng hỏi: "Tôi đã chẳng thấy bác ở trong vườn với ông ấy sao?"

Einer von den Dienern des Hohenpriesters, ein Verwandter dessen, dem Petrus das Ohr abgehauen hatte, sagte: Habe ich dich nicht im Garten bei ihm gesehen?

One of the servants of the high priest, a relation of him whose ear had been cut off by Peter, said, Did I not see you with him in the garden?

 

Một lần nữa ông Phê-rô lại chối, và ngay lúc ấy gà liền gáy.

Wieder leugnete Petrus, und gleich darauf krähte ein Hahn.

Then again Peter said, No. And straight away a cock gave its cry.

 

Vậy, người Do-thái điệu Đức Giê-su từ nhà ông Cai-pha đến dinh tổng trấn. Lúc đó trời vừa sáng. Nhưng họ không vào dinh kẻo bị nhiễm uế mà không ăn lễ Vượt Qua được.

Von Kajaphas brachten sie Jesus zum Prätorium; es war früh am Morgen. Sie selbst gingen nicht in das Gebäude hinein, um nicht unrein zu werden, sondern das Paschalamm essen zu können.

So they took Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. They themselves did not go into the Praetorium, so that they might not become unclean, but might take the Passover.

 

Vì thế, tổng trấn Phi-la-tô ra ngoài gặp họ và hỏi: "Các người tố cáo người này về tội gì?"

Deshalb kam Pilatus zu ihnen heraus und fragte: Welche Anklage erhebt ihr gegen diesen Menschen?

So Pilate came out to them and put the question: What have you to say against this man?

 

Họ đáp: "Nếu ông này không làm điều ác, thì chúng tôi đã chẳng đem nộp cho quan".

Sie antworteten ihm: Wenn er kein Übeltäter wäre, hätten wir ihn dir nicht ausgeliefert.

They said to him in answer, If the man was not a wrongdoer we would not have given him up to you.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô bảo họ: "Các người cứ đem ông ta đi mà xét xử theo luật của các người". Người Do-thái đáp: "Chúng tôi không có quyền xử tử ai cả".

Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: Nehmt ihr ihn doch, und richtet ihn nach eurem Gesetz! Die Juden antworteten ihm: Uns ist es nicht gestattet, jemand hinzurichten.

Then Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and let him be judged by your law. But the Jews said to him, We have no right to put any man to death.

 

Thế là ứng nghiệm lời Đức Giê-su đã nói, khi ám chỉ Người sẽ phải chết cách nào.

So sollte sich das Wort Jesu erfüllen, mit dem er angedeutet hatte, auf welche Weise er sterben werde.

(That the word of Jesus might come true, pointing to the sort of death he would have.)

 

Ông Phi-la-tô trở vào dinh, cho gọi Đức Giê-su và nói với Người: "Ông có phải là vua dân Do-thái không?"

Pilatus ging wieder in das Prätorium hinein, ließ Jesus rufen und fragte ihn: Bist du der König der Juden?

Then Pilate went back into the Praetorium and sent for Jesus and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews?

 

Đức Giê-su đáp: "Ngài tự ý nói điều ấy, hay những người khác đã nói với ngài về tôi?"

Jesus antwortete: Sagst du das von dir aus, oder haben es dir andere über mich gesagt?

Jesus made answer, Do you say this of yourself, or did others say it about me?

 

Ông Phi-la-tô trả lời: "Tôi là người Do-thái sao? Chính dân của ông và các thượng tế đã nộp ông cho tôi. Ông đã làm gì?"

Pilatus entgegnete: Bin ich denn ein Jude? Dein eigenes Volk und die Hohenpriester haben dich an mich ausgeliefert. Was hast du getan?

Pilate said, Am I a Jew? Your nation and the chief priests have given you into my hands: what have you done?

 

Đức Giê-su trả lời: "Nước tôi không thuộc về thế gian này. Nếu Nước tôi thuộc về thế gian này, thuộc hạ của tôi đã chiến đấu không để tôi bị nộp cho người Do-thái. Nhưng nay Nước tôi không thuộc chốn này."

Jesus antwortete: Mein Königtum ist nicht von dieser Welt. Wenn es von dieser Welt wäre, würden meine Leute kämpfen, damit ich den Juden nicht ausgeliefert würde. Aber mein Königtum ist nicht von hier.

Jesus said in answer, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom was of this world, my disciples would have made a good fight to keep me out of the hands of the Jews: but my kingdom is not here.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô liền hỏi: "Vậy ông là vua sao?" Đức Giê-su đáp: "Chính ngài nói rằng tôi là vua. Tôi đã sinh ra và đã đến thế gian vì điều này: đó là để làm chứng cho sự thật. Ai đứng về phía sự thật thì nghe tiếng tôi."

Pilatus sagte zu ihm: Also bist du doch ein König? Jesus antwortete: Du sagst es, ich bin ein König. Ich bin dazu geboren und dazu in die Welt gekommen, dass ich für die Wahrheit Zeugnis ablege. Jeder, der aus der Wahrheit ist, hört auf meine Stimme.

Then Pilate said to him, Are you then a king? Jesus made answer, You say that I am a king. For this purpose was I given birth, and for this purpose I came into the world, that I might give witness to what is true. Every lover of what is true gives ear to my voice.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô nói với Người: "Sự thật là gì?" Nói thế rồi, ông lại ra gặp người Do-thái và bảo họ: "Phần ta, ta không tìm thấy lý do nào để kết tội ông ấy.

Pilatus sagte zu ihm: Was ist Wahrheit? Nachdem er das gesagt hatte, ging er wieder zu den Juden hinaus und sagte zu ihnen: Ich finde keinen Grund, ihn zu verurteilen.

Pilate said to him, True? what is true? Having said this he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I see no wrong in him.

 

Theo tục lệ của các người, vào dịp lễ Vượt Qua, ta thường tha một người nào đó cho các người. Vậy các người có muốn ta tha vua dân Do-thái cho các người không?"

Ihr seid gewohnt, dass ich euch am Paschafest einen Gefangenen freilasse. Wollt ihr also, dass ich euch den König der Juden freilasse?

But every year you make a request to me to let a prisoner go free at the Passover. Is it your desire that I let the King of the Jews go free?

 

Họ lại la lên rằng: "Đừng tha nó, nhưng xin tha Ba-ra-ba!" Mà Ba-ra-ba là một tên cướp.

Da schrien sie wieder: Nicht diesen, sondern Barabbas! Barabbas aber war ein Straßenräuber.

Then again they gave a loud cry, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was an outlaw.

 

Bấy giờ ông Phi-la-tô truyền đem Đức Giê-su đi và đánh đòn Người.

Darauf ließ Pilatus Jesus geißeln.

Then Pilate took Jesus and had him whipped with cords.

 

Bọn lính kết một vòng gai làm vương miện, đặt lên đầu Người, và khoác cho Người một áo choàng đỏ.

Die Soldaten flochten einen Kranz aus Dornen; den setzten sie ihm auf und legten ihm einen purpurroten Mantel um.

And the men of the army made a crown of thorns and put it on his head, and they put a purple robe on him.

 

Họ đến gần và nói: "Kính chào Vua dân Do-thái!", rồi vả vào mặt Người.

Sie stellten sich vor ihn hin und sagten: Heil dir, König der Juden! Und sie schlugen ihm ins Gesicht.

And they kept coming and saying, Long life to the King of the Jews! And they gave him blows with their hands.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô lại ra ngoài và nói với người Do-thái: "Đây ta dẫn ông ấy ra ngoài cho các người, để các người biết là ta không tìm thấy lý do nào để kết tội ông ấy."

Pilatus ging wieder hinaus und sagte zu ihnen: Seht, ich bringe ihn zu euch heraus; ihr sollt wissen, dass ich keinen Grund finde, ihn zu verurteilen.

And Pilate went out again and said to them, See, I let him come out to you to make it clear to you that I see no wrong in him.

 

Vậy, Đức Giê-su bước ra ngoài, đầu đội vương miện bằng gai, mình khoác áo choàng đỏ. Ông Phi-la-tô nói với họ: "Đây là người!"

Jesus kam heraus; er trug die Dornenkrone und den purpurroten Mantel. Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: Seht, da ist der Mensch!

Then Jesus came out with the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, Here is the man!

 

Khi vừa thấy Đức Giê-su, các thượng tế cùng các thuộc hạ liền kêu lên rằng: "Đóng đinh, đóng đinh nó vào thập giá!" Ông Phi-la-tô bảo họ: "Các người cứ đem ông này đi mà đóng đinh vào thập giá, vì phần ta, ta không tìm thấy lý do để kết tội ông ấy."

Als die Hohenpriester und ihre Diener ihn sahen, schrien sie: Ans Kreuz mit ihm, ans Kreuz mit ihm! Pilatus sagte zu ihnen: Nehmt ihr ihn, und kreuzigt ihn! Denn ich finde keinen Grund, ihn zu verurteilen.

So when the chief priests and the police saw him they gave a loud cry, To the cross! to the cross! Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and put him on the cross: I see no crime in him.

 

Người Do-thái đáp lại: "Chúng tôi có Lề Luật; và chiếu theo Lề Luật, thì nó phải chết, vì nó đã xưng mình là Con Thiên Chúa."

Die Juden entgegneten ihm: Wir haben ein Gesetz, und nach diesem Gesetz muss er sterben, weil er sich als Sohn Gottes ausgegeben hat.

And the Jews made answer, We have a law, and by that law it is right for him to be put to death because he said he was the Son of God.

 

Nghe lời đó, ông Phi-la-tô càng sợ hơn nữa.

Als Pilatus das hörte, wurde er noch ängstlicher.

When this saying came to Pilate's ears his fear became greater;

 

Ông lại trở vào dinh và nói với Đức Giê-su: "Ông từ đâu mà đến?" Nhưng Đức Giê-su không trả lời.

Er ging wieder in das Prätorium hinein und fragte Jesus: Woher stammst du? Jesus aber gab ihm keine Antwort.

And he went again into the Praetorium and said to Jesus, Where do you come from? But Jesus gave him no answer.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô mới nói với Người: "Ông không trả lời tôi ư? Ông không biết rằng tôi có quyền tha và cũng có quyền đóng đinh ông vào thập giá sao?"

Da sagte Pilatus zu ihm: Du sprichst nicht mit mir? Weißt du nicht, dass ich Macht habe, dich freizulassen, und Macht, dich zu kreuzigen?

Then Pilate said to him, You say nothing to me? is it not clear to you that I have power to let you go free and power to put you to death on the cross?

 

Đức Giê-su đáp lại: "Ngài không có quyền gì đối với tôi, nếu Trời chẳng ban cho ngài. Vì thế, kẻ nộp tôi cho ngài thì mắc tội nặng hơn."

Jesus antwortete: Du hättest keine Macht über mich, wenn es dir nicht von oben gegeben wäre; darum liegt größere Schuld bei dem, der mich dir ausgeliefert hat.

Jesus gave this answer: You would have no power at all over me if it was not given to you by God; so that he who gave me up to you has the greater sin.

 

Từ đó, ông Phi-la-tô tìm cách tha Người. Nhưng dân Do-thái kêu lên rằng: "Nếu ngài tha nó, ngài không phải là bạn của Xê-da. Ai xưng mình là vua, thì chống lại Xê-da."

Daraufhin wollte Pilatus ihn freilassen, aber die Juden schrien: Wenn du ihn freilässt, bist du kein Freund des Kaisers; jeder, der sich als König ausgibt, lehnt sich gegen den Kaiser auf.

Hearing this, Pilate had a desire to let him go free, but the Jews said in a loud voice, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend: everyone who makes himself a king goes against Caesar.

 

Khi nghe thấy thế, ông Phi-la-tô truyền dẫn Đức Giê-su ra ngoài. Ông đặt Người ngồi trên toà, ở nơi gọi là Nền Đá, tiếng Híp-ri là Gáp-ba-tha.

Auf diese Worte hin ließ Pilatus Jesus herausführen, und er setzte sich auf den Richterstuhl an dem Platz, der Lithostrotos, auf hebräisch Gabbata, heißt.

So when these words came to Pilate's ear, he took Jesus out, seating himself in the judge's seat in a place named in Hebrew, Gabbatha, or the Stone Floor.

 

Hôm ấy là ngày áp lễ Vượt Qua, vào khoảng mười hai giờ trưa. Ông Phi-la-tô nói với người Do-thái: "Đây là vua các người!"

Es war am Rüsttag des Paschafestes, ungefähr um die sechste Stunde. Pilatus sagte zu den Juden: Da ist euer König!

(It was the day when they made ready for the Passover; and it was about the sixth hour.) And he said to the Jews, There is your King!

 

Họ liền hô lớn: "Đem đi! Đem nó đi! Đóng đinh nó vào thập giá!" Ông Phi-la-tô nói với họ: "Chẳng lẽ ta lại đóng đinh vua các người sao?" Các thượng tế đáp: "Chúng tôi không có vua nào cả, ngoài Xê-da."

Sie aber schrien: Weg mit ihm, kreuzige ihn! Pilatus aber sagte zu ihnen: Euren König soll ich kreuzigen? Die Hohenpriester antworteten: Wir haben keinen König außer dem Kaiser.

Then they gave a loud cry, Away with him! away with him! to the cross! Pilate said to them, Am I to put your King to death on the cross? The chief priests said in answer, We have no king but Caesar.

Bấy giờ ông Phi-la-tô trao Đức Giê-su cho họ đóng đinh vào thập giá. Vậy họ điệu Đức Giê-su đi.

Da lieferte er ihnen Jesus aus, damit er gekreuzigt würde. Sie übernahmen Jesus.

So then he gave him up to them to be put to death on the cross. And they took Jesus away;

 

Chính Người vác lấy thập giá đi ra, đến nơi gọi là Cái Sọ, tiếng Híp-ri là Gôn-gô-tha;

Er trug sein Kreuz und ging hinaus zur sogenannten Schädelhöhe, die auf hebräisch Golgota heißt.

And he went out with his cross on him to the place which is named Dead Man's Head (in Hebrew, Golgotha):

 

tại đó, họ đóng đinh Người vào thập giá, đồng thời cũng đóng đinh hai người khác nữa, mỗi người một bên, còn Đức Giê-su thì ở giữa.

Dort kreuzigten sie ihn und mit ihm zwei andere, auf jeder Seite einen, in der Mitte Jesus.

Where they put him on the cross with two others, one on this side and one on that, and Jesus in the middle.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô cho viết một tấm bảng và treo trên thập giá; bảng đó có ghi: "Giê-su Na-da-rét, Vua dân Do-thái."

Pilatus ließ auch ein Schild anfertigen und oben am Kreuz befestigen; die Inschrift lautete: Jesus von Nazaret, der König der Juden.

And Pilate put on the cross a statement in writing. The writing was: JESUS THE NAZARENE, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

 

Trong dân Do-thái, có nhiều người đọc được bảng đó, vì nơi Đức Giê-su bị đóng đinh là một địa điểm ở gần thành. Tấm bảng này viết bằng các tiếng: Híp-ri, La-tinh và Hy-lạp.

Dieses Schild lasen viele Juden, weil der Platz, wo Jesus gekreuzigt wurde, nahe bei der Stadt lag. Die Inschrift war hebräisch, lateinisch und griechisch abgefasst.

The writing was seen by a number of the Jews, for the place where Jesus was put to death on the cross was near the town; and the writing was in Hebrew and Latin and Greek.

 

Các thượng tế của người Do-thái nói với ông Phi-la-tô: "Xin ngài đừng viết: `Vua dân Do-thái', nhưng viết: `Tên này đã nói: Ta là Vua dân Do-thái'."

Die Hohenpriester der Juden sagten zu Pilatus: Schreib nicht: Der König der Juden, sondern dass er gesagt hat: Ich bin der König der Juden.

Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, Do not put, The King of the Jews, but, He said, I am the King of the Jews.

 

Ông Phi-la-tô trả lời: "Ta viết sao, cứ để vậy!"

Pilatus antwortete: Was ich geschrieben habe, habe ich geschrieben.

But Pilate made answer, What I have put in writing will not be changed.

 

Đóng đinh Đức Giê-su vào thập giá xong, lính tráng lấy áo xống của Người chia làm bốn phần, mỗi người một phần; họ lấy cả chiếc áo dài nữa. Nhưng chiếc áo dài này không có đường khâu, dệt liền từ trên xuống dưới.

Nachdem die Soldaten Jesus ans Kreuz geschlagen hatten, nahmen sie seine Kleider und machten vier Teile daraus, für jeden Soldaten einen. Sie nahmen auch sein Untergewand, das von oben her ganz durchgewebt und ohne Naht war.

And when Jesus was nailed to the cross, the men of the army took his clothing, and made a division of it into four parts, to every man a part, and they took his coat: now the coat was without a join, made out of one bit of cloth.

 

Vậy họ nói với nhau: "Đừng xé áo ra, cứ bắt thăm xem ai được." Thế là ứng nghiệm lời Kinh Thánh: Áo xống tôi, chúng đem chia chác, còn áo dài, cũng bắt thăm luôn.Đó là những điều lính tráng đã làm.

Sie sagten zueinander: Wir wollen es nicht zerteilen, sondern darum losen, wem es gehören soll. So sollte sich das Schriftwort erfüllen: Sie verteilten meine Kleider unter sich und warfen das Los um mein Gewand. Dies führten die Soldaten aus.

So they said among themselves, Let this not be cut up, but let us put it to the decision of chance and see who gets it. (They did this so that the Writings might come true, which say, They made a distribution of my clothing among them, and my coat they put to the decision of chance.) This was what the men of the army did.

 

Đứng gần thập giá Đức Giê-su, có thân mẫu Người, chị của bà thân mẫu, bà Ma-ri-a vợ ông Cơ-lô-pát, cùng với bà Ma-ri-a Mác-đa-la.

Bei dem Kreuz Jesu standen seine Mutter und die Schwester seiner Mutter, Maria, die Frau des Klopas, und Maria von Magdala.

Now by the side of the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother's sister Mary, the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.

 

Khi thấy thân mẫu và môn đệ mình thương mến đứng bên cạnh, Đức Giê-su nói với thân mẫu rằng: "Thưa Bà, đây là con của Bà."

Als Jesus seine Mutter sah und bei ihr den Jünger, den er liebte, sagte er zu seiner Mutter: Frau, siehe, dein Sohn!

So when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple who was dear to him, he said to his mother, Mother, there is your son!

 

Rồi Người nói với môn đệ: "Đây là mẹ của anh." Kể từ giờ đó, người môn đệ rước bà về nhà mình.

Dann sagte er zu dem Jünger: Siehe, deine Mutter! Und von jener Stunde an nahm sie der Jünger zu sich.

Then he said to the disciple, There is your mother! And from that hour the disciple took her to his house.

 

Sau đó, Đức Giê-su biết là mọi sự đã hoàn tất. Và để ứng nghiệm lời Kinh Thánh, Người nói:"Tôi khát!"

Danach, als Jesus wusste, dass nun alles vollbracht war, sagte er, damit sich die Schrift erfüllte: Mich dürstet.

After this, being conscious that all things had now been done so that the Writings might come true, Jesus said, Give me water.

 

Ở đó, có một bình đầy giấm. Người ta lấy miếng bọt biển có thấm đầy giấm, buộc vào một nhành hương thảo, rồi đưa lên miệng Người.

Ein Gefäß mit Essig stand da. Sie steckten einen Schwamm mit Essig auf einen Ysopzweig und hielten ihn an seinen Mund.

Now there was a vessel ready, full of bitter wine, and they put a sponge full of it on a stick and put it to his mouth.

 

Nhắp xong, Đức Giê-su nói: "Thế là đã hoàn tất!" Rồi Người gục đầu xuống và trao Thần Khí.

Als Jesus von dem Essig genommen hatte, sprach er: Es ist vollbracht! Und er neigte das Haupt und gab seinen Geist auf.

So when Jesus had taken the wine he said, All is done. And with his head bent he gave up his spirit.

 

Hôm đó là ngày áp lễ, người Do-thái không muốn để xác chết trên thập giá trong ngày sa-bát, mà ngày sa-bát đó lại là ngày lễ lớn. Nên họ xin ông Phi-la-tô cho đánh giập ống chân các người bị đóng đinh và lấy xác xuống.

Weil Rüsttag war und die Körper während des Sabbats nicht am Kreuz bleiben sollten, baten die Juden Pilatus, man möge den Gekreuzigten die Beine zerschlagen und ihre Leichen dann abnehmen; denn dieser Sabbat war ein großer Feiertag.

Now it was the day of getting ready for the Passover, and so that the bodies might not be on the cross on the Sabbath (because the day of that Sabbath was a great day), the Jews made a request to Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

 

Quân lính đến, đánh giập ống chân người thứ nhất và người thứ hai cùng bị đóng đinh với Đức Giê-su. Khi

Also kamen die Soldaten und zerschlugen dem ersten die Beine, dann dem andern, der mit ihm gekreuzigt worden war.

So the men of the army came, and the legs of the first were broken and then of the other who was put to death on the cross with Jesus:

 

đến gần Đức Giê-su và thấy Người đã chết, họ không đánh giập ống chân Người.

Als sie aber zu Jesus kamen und sahen, dass er schon tot war, zerschlugen sie ihm die Beine nicht,

But when they came to Jesus, they saw that he was dead by this time, and so his legs were not broken;

 

Nhưng một người lính lấy giáo đâm vào cạnh sườn Người. Tức thì, máu cùng nước chảy ra.

sondern einer der Soldaten stieß mit der Lanze in seine Seite, und sogleich floss Blut und Wasser heraus.

But one of the men made a wound in his side with a spear, and straight away there came out blood and water.

 

Người xem thấy việc này đã làm chứng, và lời chứng của người ấy xác thực; và người ấy biết mình nói sự thật để cho cả anh em nữa cũng tin.

Und der, der es gesehen hat, hat es bezeugt, und sein Zeugnis ist wahr. Und er weiß, dass er Wahres berichtet, damit auch ihr glaubt.

And he who saw it has given witness (and his witness is true; he is certain that what he says is true) so that you may have belief.

 

Các việc này đã xảy ra để ứng nghiệm lời Kinh Thánh: Không một khúc xương nào của Người sẽ bị đánh giập.

Denn das ist geschehen, damit sich das Schriftwort erfüllte: Man soll an ihm kein Gebein zerbrechen.

These things came about so that the Writings might be true, No bone of his body will be broken.

 

Lại có lời Kinh Thánh khác: Họ sẽ nhìn lên Đấng họ đã đâm thâu.

Und ein anderes Schriftwort sagt: Sie werden auf den blicken, den sie durchbohrt haben.

And again another verse says, They will see him who was wounded by their spears.

 

Sau đó, ông Giô-xép, người A-ri-ma-thê, xin ông Phi-la-tô cho phép hạ thi hài Đức Giê-su xuống. Ông Giô-xép này là một môn đệ theo Đức Giê-su, nhưng cách kín đáo, vì sợ người Do-thái. Ông Phi-la-tô chấp thuận. Vậy, ông Giô-xép đến hạ thi hài Người xuống.

Josef aus Arimathäa war ein Jünger Jesu, aber aus Furcht vor den Juden nur heimlich. Er bat Pilatus, den Leichnam Jesu abnehmen zu dürfen, und Pilatus erlaubte es. Also kam er und nahm den Leichnam ab.

After these things, Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, made a request to Pilate to let him take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate said he might do so. So he went and took away his body.

 

Ông Ni-cô-đê-mô cũng đến. Ông này trước kia đã tới gặp Đức Giê-su ban đêm. Ông mang theo chừng một trăm cân mộc dược trộn với trầm hương.

Es kam auch Nikodemus, der früher einmal Jesus bei Nacht aufgesucht hatte. Er brachte eine Mischung aus Myrrhe und Aloe, etwa hundert Pfund.

And Nicodemus came (he who had first come to Jesus by night) with a roll of myrrh and aloes mixed, about a hundred pounds.

 

Các ông lãnh thi hài Đức Giê-su, lấy băng vải tẩm thuốc thơm mà quấn, theo tục lệ chôn cất của người Do-thái.

Sie nahmen den Leichnam Jesu und umwickelten ihn mit Leinenbinden, zusammen mit den wohlriechenden Salben, wie es beim jüdischen Begräbnis Sitte ist.

Then they took the body of Jesus, folding linen about it with the spices, as is the way of the Jews when they put the dead to rest.

 

Nơi Đức Giê-su bị đóng đinh có một thửa vườn, và trong vườn, có một ngôi mộ còn mới, chưa chôn cất ai.

An dem Ort, wo man ihn gekreuzigt hatte, war ein Garten, und in dem Garten war ein neues Grab, in dem noch niemand bestattet worden war.

Now there was a garden near the cross, and in the garden a new place for the dead in which no man had ever been put.

 

Vì hôm ấy là ngày áp lễ của người Do-thái, mà ngôi mộ lại gần bên, nên các ông mai táng Đức Giê-su ở đó.

Wegen des Rüsttages der Juden und weil das Grab in der Nähe lag, setzten sie Jesus dort bei.

So they put Jesus there, because it was the Jews' day of getting ready for the Passover, and the place was near.
