Hằng năm, cha mẹ Đức Giê-su trẩy hội đền Giê-ru-sa-lem mừng lễ Vượt Qua.
Und seine Eltern gingen alle Jahre nach Jerusalem zum Passafest.
Every year Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover.
Khi Người được mười hai tuổi, cả gia đình cùng lên đền, như người ta thường làm trong ngày lễ.
Und als er zwölf Jahre alt war, gingen sie hinauf nach dem Brauch des Festes.
When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom.
Xong kỳ lễ, hai ông bà trở về, còn cậu bé Giê-su thì ở lại Giê-ru-sa-lem, mà cha mẹ chẳng hay biết.
Und als die Tage vorüber waren und sie wieder nach Hause gingen, blieb der Knabe Jesus in Jerusalem und seine Eltern wussten's nicht.
After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.
Ông bà cứ tưởng là cậu về chung với đoàn lữ hành, nên sau một ngày đường, mới đi tìm kiếm giữa đám bà con và người quen thuộc.
Sie meinten aber, er wäre unter den Gefährten, und kamen eine Tagereise weit und suchten ihn unter den Verwandten und Bekannten.
Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends.
Không thấy con đâu, hai ông bà trở lại Giê-ru-sa-lem mà tìm.
Und da sie ihn nicht fanden, gingen sie wieder nach Jerusalem und suchten ihn.
When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.
Sau ba ngày, hai ông bà mới tìm thấy con trong Đền Thờ, đang ngồi giữa các thầy dạy, vừa nghe họ, vừa đặt câu hỏi.
Und es begab sich nach drei Tagen, da fanden sie ihn im Tempel sitzen, mitten unter den Lehrern, wie er ihnen zuhörte und sie fragte.
After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
Ai nghe cậu nói cũng ngạc nhiên về trí thông minh và những lời đối đáp của cậu.
Und alle, die ihm zuhörten, verwunderten sich über seinen Verstand und seine Antworten.
Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
Khi thấy con, hai ông bà sửng sốt, và mẹ Người nói với Người: “Con ơi, sao con lại xử với cha mẹ như vậy? Con thấy không, cha con và mẹ đây đã phải cực lòng tìm con!”
Und als sie ihn sahen, entsetzten sie sich. Und seine Mutter sprach zu ihm: Mein Sohn, warum hast du uns das getan? Siehe, dein Vater und ich haben dich mit Schmerzen gesucht.
When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, "Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you."
Người đáp: “Sao cha mẹ lại tìm con? Cha mẹ không biết là con có bổn phận ở nhà của Cha con sao?”
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Warum habt ihr mich gesucht? Wisst ihr nicht, dass ich sein muss in dem, was meines Vaters ist?
"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?
Nhưng ông bà không hiểu lời Người vừa nói.
Und sie verstanden das Wort nicht, das er zu ihnen sagte.
But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
Sau đó, Người đi xuống cùng với cha mẹ, trở về Na-da-rét và hằng vâng phục các ngài. Riêng mẹ Người thì hằng ghi nhớ tất cả những điều ấy trong lòng.
Und er ging mit ihnen hinab und kam nach Nazareth und war ihnen untertan. Und seine Mutter behielt alle diese Worte in ihrem Herzen.
Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.
Còn Đức Giê-su ngày càng thêm khôn ngoan, thêm cao lớn và thêm ân nghĩa đối với Thiên Chúa và người ta.
Und Jesus nahm zu an Weisheit, Alter und Gnade bei Gott und den Menschen.
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
